Caring for your Silver
Caring for Your Nunatak Jewellery
Built for adventurers. Crafted to last.
Nunatak pieces are made from high-quality, recycled 925 sterling silver — designed to be worn and loved for years to come. To help your jewellery age gracefully, here are a few simple care tips:
General Care Tips
- Avoid wearing your silver while swimming, showering or using cleaning products. Moisture and chemicals can accelerate tarnishing.
- Store pieces separately in your Nunatak pouch or a soft bag in a dry place to prevent scratching and minimise tarnishing.
- Avoid lotions, perfumes and sprays coming into contact with your jewellery. Apply your skincare and cosmetics and then add your jewellery on for the day.
Built for Adventurers — Handled with Care
Nunatak pieces are inspired by wild landscapes and crafted for bold spirits — but sterling silver still needs thoughtful handling to ensure longevity:
- Silver is naturally a soft metal — remove your pieces before lifting heavy gear, heading to the gym or handling rugged tools.
- Your pieces are best left off for multi-day hikes or technical climbs to avoid warping or scratches.
- Designed to remind you of adventure, not to survive a snowstorm in your pack.
- When in doubt, carry it in a soft pouch and put it on when you reach the view.
- A little tarnish is natural — it’s a sign of real silver and a well-loved life. Restore shine when needed with a polishing cloth, and enjoy the character your jewellery develops along the way. If you live locally, I can provide a clean of your jewellery in an ultrasonic cleaner for a small fee.
